Do you know the difference between pets, service animals, and
emotional suppport animals (ESA's)?  You'd better, to avoid a big lawsuit.
Join us for a vital Landlording Strategies Meeting online:

"You Bet Your Assets!
What You Must Know About Animals in Rentals"

Special presentation by Victoria Cowart
and Jill Sauer of PetScreening.com

Your meeting moderators: Michelle Yang, Senior Property Manager with PropertyWize; and Mary Jo Whelan,Property Manager with The McGinley Group and past President of the NARPM (National Association of Residential Property Managers).

Even if you have a no-pets policy, you must understand that some animals legally are not considered to be pets.  At our next Landlording Strategies Meeting, Victoria Cowart and Jill Sauer of PetScreening.com will bring you up to speed on this vital topic.

Service or support?  HUD or DOJ?  FHA or ADA?  Do you know the differences?  This session will cover what you need to know about assistance animals and accommodation requests — from the 101 basics to the 2020 HUD Assistance Animal Notice.

Both on-site teams and regional management will appreciate the content on one of the hottest HUD complaint topics, including:

Human & Animal Statistics -- Rates of Disabilities -- Rates of Pet/Animal Ownership

Fair Housing -- FHA -- FHAA

Assistance Animal Accommodations -- Disabled Person (the Who) -- Reasonable Accommodation (the What) -- Terminology

Assistance Animal Accommodations: the HUD Part -- FHEO 2020-01 Assistance Animals Notice

Request Journey -- Two Pathways -- Two Components

Process & Outcomes -- Process Points -- Outcomes (Approve/Reject/Continue)

Negative Outcomes -- one landlord paid a $100k+ fee because he did not follow the regs!  Ignorance on this issue can impact your wallet in a huge way!
